How you will be assessed
You will be assessed through multiple internal assignments and two in-person tests and a final exam. The internal assessment/exam ratio is 50:50. The final exam makes up 50% of your overall grade. Practical assignments and each test will be graded using marking schedules. Your overall paper grade will follow the standardised University grading scheme.
Please note that as part of the School of Science's quality assurance process, we moderate the final grades of all papers before they are made provisional for students to see. We check the final grade distributions across different papers to ensure that all students are being assessed fairly and reasonably. This means that your final grade may not directly correlate with the sum of marks shown in Moodle Gradebook. Any queries about the final grade moderation process should be directed to the Assistant Dean (Academic) for the School of Science.
The internal assessment/exam ratio (as stated in the University Calendar) is 50:50. The final exam makes up 50% of the overall mark.
